Alpine Skiing in Sierra Nevada Spain

 
The one-and-only Andalusian ski resort in the Sierra Nevada high above the city of Granada, named "Sol y Nieve", provides more hours of sunshine than any other European ski resort.
 
On a very clear day you can even see the mountains of the African coast while you enjoy the 87km of well prepared slopes, the recently amplified Snowpark Sulayr with slope style obstacles, boarder-cross and half pipe, or simply relax on one of the several sun terraces with restaurant services. 
 
The vertical drop of the skiable runs is 2100m with a total length of runs of 103km, distributed into a total of a 119 slopes. Each level of skier will find his appropriate terrain in the Sol y Nieve Ski Resort, Sierra Nevada.
 
All installations are modern and in perfect conditions. Safety standards are being met to the highest level. 
 
Even in the rare case that the first productive snowfalls do not arrive before mid December, the Sierra Nevada is equipped with one of the most advanced systems of artificial snow production in Europe. Therefore, a decent snow layer for skiing and snowboarding will never be lacking within the season schedule.

All over the the village of Pradollano and especially around the center "Plaza de Andalucia", plenty of well-equipped and professional ski schools offer their skilled services. 
 
Most of the bigger ski schools also hire out the ski equipment. If you are an absolute newbie to skiing and look for an easy way to give it a try, then we recommend to get ski equipment and beginners lessons all in one package directly from the ski school. This way you safe time and comfortably deal with only one provider.
 

Ski Rental - Ski Hire Sierra Nevada

 
Even in the peak season when the town of Pradollano is busy with visitors, there will never be a shortage of ski equipment for rent. 
 
If you reside in the mid or upper zone of the ski station in Pradollano, it won't be necessary to go down to the center Plaza where most of the ski rental shops are based. There are several professional ski rental stations located in Sierra Nevada's mid and upper zone. Thanks to their existence, you can hire ski material in front of your door step and already ski down to the main lift stations.
