The Natural preserveof the Sierra Nevada The natural park of the Sierra Nevada Granada is expending over the provinces of Granada and Almeria, counting 171.829 hectars of surface. Within this natural park there are 20 mountains of more than 3000m height. The Mulhacen with his 3.481m is highest amongst those and at the same time the highest all over Spain.  The National Park of Sierra Nevada includes 60 municipalities from the districts of Marquesado del Zenete, the valley of Lecrin, the Sierra Nevada Poniente and the area of the river Nacimiento. La largest municipality is called the Alpujarra. The National Park of Sierra Nevada Between green valleys and rocky peaks there is an extraordinary variety in this natural preserve in the south of Europe.In this most natural environment there are 60 species of plants and 20 types of butterflys that can only be found here in the Sierra Nevada. In higher regions of the mountains in the natural preserve of Sierra Nevada España you can be lucky and see one of the very rare mountain goats. The water from the little village Lanjaron in Sierra Nevada is very popular and being sold all over Spain. |
