Snowboarding in Sierra Nevada Spain

It has taken years for the Sierra Nevada to gain international recognition as a world class snowboard resort, but thanks to the great efforts the resort has taken in 2011/2012 by building Spain's largest mega pipe and the newly situated Superpark Sulayr on the Loma de Dilar slope, the Sierra Nevada is now on the map of the top snow parks in Europe.

The modern installations come up to highest standards, offering a snowboard-cross run, plenty of slopestyle modules for all levels (kickers, rails, boxes), the FIS approved superpipe of 165m length and 6m depth, music, WIFI connection and a chill out area at the bottom of the park.

In march 2012, the World Junior Snowboard Championships were held in the Sierra Nevada for the first time and turned out to be a great success. Therefore, Sierra Nevada is now a top candidate to be holding the Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Chambionships in 2017.

 

 

Snowboard School & Snowboard Rental - Sierra Nevada

In the bottom zone of Pradollano is where you can find most of the snowboard shops and snowboard schools. Some of them have a school station in the Borreguiles area up the hill as well.

Their staff is friendly and most likely able to communicate with you in English. Make sure you ask about this point in the snowboard school before you sign in!

In the well equipped and modern snowboard shops you might as well be able to achieve a test board of the new season if you are planning to buy a new board set up.
