The Snow Season in Pradollano, Sierra Neveda

The snow season usually starts (of course depending on weather conditions) in late november and lasts until May.
The Andalusian sun has an important influence on the snow conditions as they will change during the day. The best time to enjoy fast but grippy slopes is between 9am and 13pm when the sun is slowly melting the frozen snow top layer. Advanced skiiers and snowboarders will prefer this time of the day to be spent on the slopes.
From 13pm until 17pm the snow will be quite a bit softer and slower which might be even better for those who are about to learn skiing or snowboarding. Falling on hard pack hurts more than falling on soft snow!
Artificial snow - snow canons in Sol y Nieve

Even if mother nature wouldn't help support your skiing holidays (by keeping away the clouds which carry some fresh snow), then there are 428 modern snow canons to provide 31,8km of slopes with artificial snow.
Off-piste terrain offers some rides in powder snow in the Sierra Nevada. But remeber: it is not allowed to leave the officially marked slopes unless you join a ski touring trip with a qualified guide who knows the terrain and its dangerous aspects. Of course, such tours are being offered in Pradollano by professional guides.
Maybe Pradollano is not the biggest ski resort of them all, but in matters of infrastructure, Sol y Nieve is a hard one to top.
Every type of accommodation is available - a large amount of modern chair lifts and gondolas make it easy to reach the slopes or the different level zones of the ski resort are - and gastronomic services as well as shopping facilities of all kinds are easily accesable from any point of the resort.
